Ms. Harrington is a Director of Development at the Medical University of South Carolina and provides leadership for principal and major gifts to the College of Medicine, with special strategic focus on endowments and scholarships. She also assists with planning to increase private philanthropic support for selected clinical projects and regional partnerships. Before joining MUSC, she served as Senior Director for the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL and managed major gift and capital campaign fundraising for the Inova Health System’s Heart & Vascular Institute in Fairfax, VA. She has also served as Vice President of Marketing and Community Relations at the UVA Health System Culpeper Medical Center and as Executive Director for the Culpeper Regional Healthcare Foundation.
Currently serving on the MUSC Arboretum Board, her former affiliations include Editorial Board Chair for the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s Journal, President of the Pennsylvania Dental Hygiene Association Board of Trustees, Clemson University Parent’s Council member and volunteer for Project Healing Water, a fly-fishing therapy program for military veterans. Ms. Harrington holds a M.A. from the University of Miami, a B.S. from California University of Pennsylvania, and studied dental hygiene at the University of Pittsburgh.
She also holds credentials from C.F.R.E. International. She has volunteered as a youth writing mentor and swim coach, and with free clinics and Scouting in the communities she has lived in. Her husband is a Vietnam veteran and three children are active duty military.
