We are the Brass City Young Marines - the nation's first unit founded in 1959. We are proud to be a part of our nation’s premiere, award-winning program for boys and girls between the ages of eight and eighteen. We drill on Monday's from 6:00-8:00pm at the Wheeler Young VFW Post 201 in Waterbury.

The Young Marines promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, and we rely heavily upon teaching and instilling the values of discipline, teamwork, and leadership to youth participating in our program, setting a positive example that develops our members into responsible citizens.

Upon completion of recruit training, participants are instructed in rank structure and allowed to take part in numerous activities in our area and in combination with other units when possible. These include: community service projects; encampments; team-building activities; field trips; instruction about the dangers of drug abuse; and helpful instruction on dealing with peer pressure and other issues vital to our youth.

It all begins when you contact us to request more information about our next recruit class. Won’t you consider making these opportunities available to your son or daughter? Send us a message through our Facebook page Brass City Young Marines
