Welcome to the Lake Ray Hubbard Young Marines

"Building Tomorrow's Leaders Today"

We are the Lake Ray Hubbard Young Marines located in Rowlett, Texas. Our program meets on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 9AM-2PM.

We are not a recruitment program that tries to push your child into the Marine Corps. We are a group of adult volunteers committed to enhancing our nations greatest asset, our youth. Our adult volunteers are primarily retired Marines, some served 4 years and some 28 years, alongside civilian professionals in our community.

We are a national youth program focused on leadership, citizenship through community service, self-discipline, and living a healthy and drug-free lifestyle! Our program focuses on character building and promotes a lifestyle that engages in being a productive member of our communities.

Our only requirement is that our Young Marines be in good standing in their schools. Upon joining a local Young Marines unit, our youth undergo a 26-hour orientation program spread out over several weekly meetings, we call this our "recruit training" program.

They will learn material such as history, customs and courtesies, close order drill, physical fitness, and military rank structure. After graduating from Young Marine Recruit Training they will have the opportunity to learn even more new skills, earn rank, wear the Young Marines uniform and earn ribbon awards. The ribbons are focused on leadership, community service, swimming, academic excellence, first aid and drug resistance education.
