We Are the
North Bend Young Marines — Making History Together
Right here in North Bend, Oregon, something historic is happening. For the first time ever, our community has its very own Young Marines unit — part of the nation’s most respected and award-winning youth programs. Open to boys and girls ages 8 to 18, we are building leaders, honoring veterans, and setting a new standard for youth excellence in our area.
From the very first day, Young Marines stand taller. We teach self-confidence, teamwork, discipline, and leadership — life skills that shape strong, capable citizens for years to come. Members live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, give back to the community, and carry themselves with pride and purpose.
Founded in 1959 with a single small unit, the Young Marines has grown across the nation and overseas — and now, North Bend proudly joins that legacy. Together, we’re creating lifelong memories, forging unbreakable bonds, and writing the very first chapter of this program’s history in our town.
We aren’t just another youth program — we are the first Young Marines in North Bend, blazing a trail and making history. If you’re ready to be part of something bigger, this is where it starts.

Not just another youth group The North Bend Young Marines welcomes youth of all abilities, ages 8-18, from across North Bend, Coos County and surrounding areas -- including Douglas County, Reedsport, and Florence. Just like the bridges that connect our communities, NBYM connects youth from all walks of life, bridging school, sports, drama, and other activities into one supportive network. Our program is designed to enhance what you're already doing, not replace it - and we work together to accommodate busy schedules, because that's what our unit does: we support each other, every step of the way.
