The Young Marines is a national nonprofit youth organization for children, ages 8 through the completion of high school. Any child can join the Young Marines, no matter their social, health, or economic backgrounds. The Young Marines is primarily a leadership program modeled off the Marine Corps, instilling the Marine Corps values of leadership, teamwork, discipline, honor, courage, commitment, and hard work into our youth. Although we do model ourselves off the Marine Corps, we do no weapons or warfare training and we are not a recruiting agency for the military. More importantly the Young Marines instills a drug-free lifestyle in today’s youth by building strong young adults who say no to drugs. The Young Marines is a high adventure program and sets itself apart by the sheer amount of amazing opportunities offered, the extreme pride, the high-esteem, and the extraordinary ability to make productive young leaders for tomorrow's future.
The Young Marines is a program you need to see to believe. We are more than just a youth program, we are more than just drug free kids. In a world of little expectations and hand outs, we call upon children to take a stand in our communities. We ask children to be leaders and community advocates. We ask children to rise up to a purpose and be ambassadors with a mission. The Young Marines isn’t a program comprised of children solely to better themselves; it’s not about what they can gain…. The Young Marines is comprised of children given an opportunity to do something for their communities, to give back. The Young Marines is giving children a vision with a chance to change the world. We give each child an opportunity to have a voice and challenge every child to better the world around them. That is one of the most important and valuable things you can give someone and these children selflessly accept that challenge and strive to accomplish their missions. They boldly stand up to a world ready to knock them down and when they get knocked down and effortlessly stand up again.
The Young Marines is a organization, representing the future, a
unity of children on a mission to take charge of their community and boldly
answer a call to action. The Young Marines represent a brave act of being proud
of who they are and what they stand for.
The Young Marines are a heroic unwavering audacious group of children showing the world what they can do. They are using their voices and shouting a message. They are leaders, they are drug free, they are the future, they will change the world and they will rise to face every obstacle with strength and a union impossible to break. They are the difference and they’re proud of it.
