We are the Mountain View Young Marines, located in Centennial, Colorado.
We’re proud to be a part of our nation’s premiere, award-winning program for youth age 8 through completion of high school. This program focuses on character building and leadership, and promotes a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
Upon joining a local Young Marine unit, youth undergo Recruit Training, which occurs over two full weekends, usually in the summer.
Recruits learn general subjects such as history, customs and courtesies, close order drill, physical fitness, and military rank structure.
After graduating, Recruits earn the Young Marine title and wear the Young Marine uniform.
Throughout their tenure, Young Marines learn even more new skills, earn rank, and work toward becoming leaders. Young Marines can earn ribbons for achievement in areas such as leadership, community service, swimming, academic excellence, first aid and drug resistance education.
MVYM Goals:
• Foster young leaders through academic achievement and high-adventure activities
• Produce responsible citizens by performing community service supporting veterans and charitable organizations
• Develop a positive mental and moral atmosphere in which military-style instruction can be applied, thus enabling and fortifying America’s future
