We offer a one-time free visit for Parents, Guardians and child(ren).
Normal Drill Schedule: 3 Saturdays a month from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Location: PTEC (Power Technical) at 2460 Waynoka Pl, Colorado Springs, CO 80915
Expectations, Guidelines, Cost, Recruit Training & becoming a Young Marine.
To become a Young Marine, all youth members must complete Recruit Training. Recruit Training is designed to teach the recruits the basics of what it means to be a Young Marine. Recruits will learn:
- Teamwork, Leadership, and Discipline
- Close Order Drill (COD)
- Military Terms and Jargon
- Marine Corps Enlisted Rank Structure
- Uniform Care and Maintenance
- Physical Fitness
- Military Customs and Courtesies
Things you need to know before joining:
- Youth members must be at least 8 years old and have not completed high school.
You will also need the following information when filling out the online application at YoungMarines.org
- Social Security or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (for verification purposes only)
- Recent Physical Exam or School Sports Physical (less than one year old)
- Copy of Medical Insurance Card (front and back)
Recruit Registration Fees:
- Usually about $200
- Includes enrollment fee; cost of gear and items needed for drills.
Annual Registration Fees:
- The annual national registration fee is usually around $100 (September timeframe)
- Young Marines from current year Recruit class will not have to pay re-registration fees until the second year of their enrollment.
Recruit Training:
Recruit training at Pikes Peak is completed in one weekend (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon, usually in the summer).
Becoming an Adult Volunteer:
Adult Volunteers need to pass a National background check and provide character references.
Adult Volunteers must be at least 18 and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENTS
We participate in Parades, Marine Corps Ball, Military and Memorial Day events
Toys for Tots, Wreaths Across America, Flag Retirement, POW & MIA Ceremonies
(with the following organizations):
(1) Pikes Peak Detachment #29 Marine Corps League
(2) Patriot Guard Riders of Colorado
(3) Honor Flight of Southern Colorado
(4) VFW 6461 (Fountain, CO)
(5) American Legion, #39 (Manitou Springs)
Recruit Training is scheduled for February or March and August and is a 26 hour course (completed over a weekend).
The fee is used to purchase the following items for Drill, Training, Events, etc.
